Los Angeles is a diverse city forming a melting pot of various cultures.  With the exception of New York City, no other place in the world has as many different peoples living so close together.  It’s one of the things that makes Los Angeles so great.

Unfortunately, this diversity also reveals some of the biases within people, and some of these people work for the government.  Whether it’s a police officer pulling a man over for “driving while black” or a Muslim man being harassed by security when trying to enter a government building, bias is everywhere.  While people are free to believe whatever they want, they are not free to exercise governmental power to further their discriminatory agenda.

State and federal law protects against discrimination “under the color of law.”  this means that government employees can’t use their authority to serve their bigotry.  The statutory framework allows a person to sue the employee, and sometimes the government agency, for harm caused to you based on discriminatory motives and practices.

If you feel that you have been the victim of discrimination by a government employee or agency, call The Law Office of Cliff Dean Schneider to discuss your situation. For civil rights cases, we charge you nothing.  If you win your case, we make the other side pay our fees.  If you lose, you still pay us nothing.  Having money should never be a requirement to get justice.
